no axe in December
my pulsing hands are full of splinters
but still there's the embers
that warm the stove in stormy winters
I am still watching every step
I can't remember nor forget
I'm standing still
these open windows
release the warmth into the open
but then the wind blows
to feed the glowing and the hoping
the wider the space the less I see
so closing my eyes will set me free
adapting still
the cares of November
are smashing doors to let the drench in
but still there's the ember
that heat my chest to start the engine

The smell of lively streets and old boulevards
ancient stones frame the drama of cafes and bars
I felt strong and ready, my back was straight
signal’s red, I don’t mind, I love to wait
after times of gravity, I was light as the clouds
no traces where I’ve been, no sign of doubt
I’ve been sealing my wounds with salt ever since
trying to get to the place where the race begins
but today all is different, the wind has changed
my plans for this journey have been rearranged
heavy hearted I’m climbing the narrow stairs
like the spiral that’s built by all my cares
longing to unleash the first warm drop
I finally meet my tears on the very top
